CLASS DESCRIPTION

Modern music is deeply influenced by jazz, and exploring jazz theory opens up a world of creative possibilities. This course is your first step into Jazz Music Theory, covering everything from analyzing iconic jazz pieces to mastering the circle of fifths.

Designed for composers, songwriters, singers, and music enthusiasts alike, this class will help you apply jazz concepts to your own musical practice and expand your creative toolkit.

This is a ten week course that runs from May 2nd - July 11th.

INSTRUCTOR DESCRIPTION

Simha is a vocalist, songwriter, and producer with a deep foundation in jazz and Indian Classical music. A Berklee College of Music graduate, he specializes in jazz theory, blending eastern and western influences to enhance musical storytelling. His teaching emphasizes practical application, performance analysis, and creative exploration, helping students deepen their understanding of harmony, improvisation, and composition.

This is an 10-week course that meets weekly from May 2 - July 11. By enrolling, you are committing to the full duration of the course.
Skill Level
A basic understanding of music theory, including reading sheet music, key signatures, time signatures, and intervals.
